Steve Rhoades
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Rhoades joined Satcon® in May 2008 as President and Chief Executive Officer with more than 20 years of experience in executive leadership positions across the renewable energy arena. With a history of successful experience and business acumen combined with a deep technical understanding, Mr. Rhoades is widely noted for bringing both leadership perspective and operational excellence to Satcon, as well as the wider renewable energy arena.
As President and CEO with an established career guiding teams through complex challenges, Mr. Rhoades is credited with revitalizing Satcon's business and leadership position by focusing on the company's core key strengths and introducing new products and solutions that will continue to significantly shape the landscape of the solar power environment and support the world's increasing dependence on renewable energy. This approach has led to Satcon's significant gain of market share and increase in revenues. As leader of the Satcon team, sought by some of the world's smartest utilities to help address grid-related issues, Mr. Rhoades is on the forefront of solving some of the most pressing and complex challenges in the renewable energy arena. He was one of the first in the industry to identify PV inverters as a product that offered significant growth potential well beyond the through-put of energy, and led the creation of a power conversion system that significantly improves the way energy is harnessed, managed, controlled and delivered.
Prior to joining Satcon, Mr. Rhoades served as Chief Operating Officer at Advanced Energy where he was responsible for substantially improving profitability and margins, and restructuring the organization's product portfolio. He was lauded for much of AE's financial success through a combination of his senior leadership and management, as well as his understanding of and commitment to technical quality. Prior to Advanced Energy Industries, Mr. Rhoades held senior leadership roles including management, product development and engineering at Portera Systems, Lam Research, Trikon Technologies and Applied Materials.
Mr. Rhoades' experience, success and future perspective on the renewable energy arena have made him a sought-after thought leader in the world of renewable energy. He holds both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Physics from the University of Illinois.
Aaron Gomolak
Chief Financial Officer
Aaron Gomolak is the Corporation’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Satcon, Mr. Gomolak served as Managing Director of Altitude Finance where he successfully helped renewable energy and information technology companies expand operations into Asia. Previous to Altitude Finance, Mr. Gomolak spent seven years at Advanced Energy where he held various roles of increasing responsibility including Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller. Mr. Gomolak received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University.
Dr. Leo Casey
Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Leo Casey is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Satcon Technology Corporation, a leading provider of utility-scale, grid-connected renewable energy solutions for distributed power markets, enabling the industry's most advanced, reliable and proven clean-energy alternatives. Dr. Casey has driven continuous innovation in the field of renewable power conversion over the past ten years, with specialized focus on conventional and alternative sources of primary energy, associated energy storage mechanisms and grid interconnection techniques.
Dr. Casey has long promoted the use of inverters and advanced control techniques to enable a stable, efficient, highly distributed, rugged, microgridable electrical grid as the key to our energy future. He was recently appointed Chairman of the High-Megawatt Inverter Program organized with DOE and NIST and focused on developing "fast-grid" capabilities enabled by large inverters with advanced utility features.
Dr. Casey received a BE degree at the University of Auckland in New Zealand and MSc, EE, and ScD degrees at MIT, coming to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar. He has more than 25 years of experience in the renewable energy conversion industry, is an editor of Transactions on Energy Conversion of the Power Engineering Society of the IEEE and also serves on NREL's Solar Advisory Panel.
Pete DeGraff
Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing
Pete DeGraff joined Satcon in May 2008 as Corporate Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He brings over 15 years of sales and marketing leadership in rapid growth technology organizations. Pete was most recently Vice President of World Wide Alliances at i2Technologies, where he organized a highly successful global channel for its products and solutions.
Pete is responsible for leading the development and execution of the global go-to-market strategies for Satcon's products and solutions, including marketing and sales programs that focus on the company's industry leading solutions for renewable energy. Pete has achieved success in developing programmatic, integrated efforts to grow revenues and opportunities for products and solutions across multiple industries, including consumer products, high tech, transportation/logistics, automotive, aerospace, industrial manufacturing and retail.
Pete has a Masters in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and a Bachelors Degree from Alma College. He has studied small business strategies in overseas economies and has advanced training in PV Solar Design and Installations.
Brian Michael
Vice President, Global Operations
Brian Michael joined Satcon in January of 2011 as the Vice President of Global Supply Chain, and added the responsibility of Global Operations in June of the same year. Prior to joining Satcon, Brian served as the Senior Director of Support Services at Brooks Automation, Inc. where he successfully led organizations in both operations and service in the US, Mexico, Germany, China, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. Prior to joining Brooks Automation, Brian spent eight years in the semiconductor capital equipment and renewable energy markets where he successfully held various increasing roles within Operations and Supply Chain.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Engineering Sciences from Drexel University.
Dan Gladkowski
Vice President of Administration and Secretary
Daniel E. Gladkowski joined the corporation in 1994 as Director of Human Resources. In March 2005, Dr. Gladkowski was appointed to the position of Vice President of Administration. In this capacity, he is responsible for the strategic direction of Corporate Human Resources and Administrative Services.
From 1980 to 1994, Dr. Gladkowski was employed by Draper Laboratory, Inc., where he served as Director of Human Resources. In this position, he was responsible for the management of all aspects of the Human Resources Department, including benefits, recruitment, compensation, human relations, college recruitment and the MIT Draper Fellow Program. In addition, he spent several years as a Division Administrator at Draper, responsible for Technical Program Management and division administration.
Prior to Draper Labs, he was employed by Exxon Research & Engineering and D.P. Parker & Associates, a technical search firm. Dr. Gladkowski received his B.S. degree from Marietta College and the M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Cornell University. He also held a postdoctoral research position at Princeton University and has published in both the Scientific and Human Resources arenas.
