firms. These systems are being used by utilities around the World to support transmission systems
and integrate renewable energy into the power grid for customers. These energy
storage technologies are also being seen by utilities as a good way to manage
the expansion of their transmission system, with many utilities planning to
investigate their use in the near future. Power conversion systems commonly
represent 25%-to-33% of the value of energy storage installations.
The SatCon PowerGate™ AE-B power converters
are available for efficient charging and discharging
of battery energy storage systems. Our experience includes
solutions for emerging technologies such as advanced
flow batteries with installations ranging from 20kW
to over 1MW.
