SatCon
manufactures a comprehensive line of utility grade inverters for commercial
scale solar power applications. The units are grid-tied and line interactive,
enabling them to convert direct current power from solar arrays to alternating
current power that is compatible with the utility voltage for export
to the grid. SatCon integrates high reliability components into complete
systems allowing for exceptional performance, the highest efficiency
in their class and low installation costs. Compliance and certification
to UL1741 and applicable ANSI and IEEE standards insures compatibility
with the local utility as well as providing qualification for approval
by the California Energy Commission.
SatCon manufactures commercial solar
inverters ranging from 30 to 500KW. This broad range of
product choices available to installers, helps to maximize
the power generated by the solar array, allows users to take
maximum advantage of available financial incentives and shortens
the payback cycle for the entire solar power installation.
This segment of the U.S. solar power market is estimated to be $45 million
in 2005 and is expected to maintain its 30% growth rate for the foreseeable
future. This market is driven by state Renewable Portfolio Standards
(RPS) goals, with primary markets in California , New Jersey,
and New York . Additional growth will come from expanded programs in
these states and as other states expand their RPS subsidy program. Inverters
represent 20% of the value of commercial scale PV systems.

PowerGate™ power converter for photovoltaic applications (AE-PV
Series), available in 120/240 Volt single phase,208, 240, 480 Volt three
phase, and transformer-less versions is a grid-tie interactive inverter
designed to convert power generated by PV solar arrays into utility grade
power for export to the utility grid.
